MRSA Statistics in Europe and the U.K.
MRSA infection rates have been rising in England and Wales from 2,422 in 1997 to 7,684 in 2003/04.
The European Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance System (EARSS) monitors antimicrobial resistance in Europe. A surveillance system is maintained the provided comparable and validated data on the prevalence and spread of MRSA and other pathogens.
Below is data from the EARSS report during 199-2002 that shows the number of staph aureus bacteria in each country which is methicillin-resistant (MRSA). There is no data that shows the number of MRSA infections.
