MRSA Survivors Network, a global leader in raising awareness for the MRSA epidemic launches a new awareness campaign – International MRSA Testing Week, April 1-7th with the support of their alliance partner MRSA Action UK. International MRSA Testing Week is an annual designated observance for active detection (screening) for MRSA colonization of high risk patients upon admission to a healthcare facility. The global awareness week draws attention for the urgent need also for healthcare and community facilities to clean and decontaminate the environment and to increase surveillance and testing for MRSA in livestock worldwide.International MRSA Testing Week, April 1-7 Awareness Campaign

A U.S. House of Representatives resolution has been introduced by U.S. Rep. Judy Biggert to designate April 1-7th International MRSA Testing Week along with October 2, World MRSA Day and October, World MRSA Awareness Month.

“MRSA and antimicrobial resistance needs to be a top political priority worldwide”, states Jeanine Thomas Founder of MRSA Survivors Network.

MRSA Survivors Network has produced a public service announcement with Mr. Rob Stafford of NBC Chicago and will air on NBC Chicago stations in March and viewed on MRSA Survivors Network’s YouTube channel and website.
